Default Side Gill Inserts..how to take off?

Bought my C5 a few weeks ago and it had these on these on it. It also had painted louvers as well. I just unscrewed those. But how do i take these gills off without damaging the paint?
This is what I have, but they are painted Mag Red II

if they're held on with double sided tape, just use the fishing line/sawzall method.

Here is the install instructions from RK sports. I hope it helps.......

C5 Gill Installation Instructions
The Corvette C5 inserts are made of the highest grade urethane with allows it to retain the same high
level of quality that is expected in the C5. These steps are very simple, but very critical in achieving a
durable and attractive finish that will last a long time.
1. The pieces in this kit have already been applied with a urethane primer. It is necessary to sand
this primer before reapplying additional coats. 320 or 400 grit sandpaper is recommended.
2. This sanding can be done either wet or dry. Sand the part in an even fashion, being careful not to
create any high or low spots.
3. If necessary the part can be coated with additional layers of primer or sealer depending on your
suppliers recommended paint procedures.
4. Once you have achieved a sanded and smooth product you may now apply your desired color
basecoat and or clearcoat.
5. Once the part is ready to be installed it is imperative that the surface which the double sided tape
is going to be applied be thoroughly cleaned with alcohol or a wax and grease remover, i.e.
Dupont Prepsol, Sherwin Williams Sur-Clean, etc…
6. After the surface has been cleaned and free of any contaminants you may now remove the
backing of the tape and attach the painted products to the vehicle.
You can now admire the enhanced look that these additions have to your C5 Corvette and be
comfortable that the time taken to properly install these will years of trouble free enjoyment.

You can use fishing line to go between the gills & car to remove the 2 sided tape. A hair dryer also helps with removal. (same as body side moldings.)

Good luck.

A hair dryer and some fishing line should do the trick. Just take your time.

Don't drive the car until you get them off, people could point and laugh. Or worse, they could take embarassing pictures of it and post them on here.

Thanks guys. I hope to have them off today or tomorrow. i had one guy interested in them after they come off, but didnt hear back. If anyone DOES want them, the gills and louvers for say $100 + shipping from 32211, unless original CF member that asked for them gets back with me.

I used some braided fly fishing line to get my BSM's off. Worked great.
