If you are lucky you can find a Lap-Trax TracActive Controller for your C5. They are not made anymore but they pop up for sale once in a while.

It is a little piggy back computer that keeps the setting for your traction control from changing every time you shut down the car.

I bought one new on this forum last year, someday I will install it.

He has traction control only, doesn't say Active Handling over the button...problem solved. Thanks again guys, gotta love this forum

and on the earlier year C5's - the option list is located on the back of one of the cargo storage lids/covers/panels.
