Default hitch on vette

a friend of mine who has a 04 coupe put a reese hitch on his vette so he can tow his bike (peddle bike) to and from a riding trail. i told him that no respecting vette owner would put a hitch on their vette he laughed and said alot of vette owners put hitchs on their vette. so far i have not seen any. does anyone know of others putting hitches on their vettes. i think he should be stoned for defacing a vette.

Why not? I know a few that put hitches on the vette so when they go to track events they tow there stuff to the track without having to take two vehicles. I have a buddy who towes his boat with his 91 Turbo Eclipse, why cause the Eclipse has more hp,torque, and is awd ands his truck is 2wd with less hp,tq. There are more then a few with hitches on there vette around here I'm sure pics will be posted. I ask why most of the old farts even own a vette since most of them have never drive faster then someone with a geo metro.

Don't throw ALL of us old farts into the same basket dude!!! A good possibility I could leave you a bit embarrassed on test and tune night! So fr my best reaction time is .001 second as well as a .006 I'm disappointed with anything over.100..and Expect regular .01xs. and I've had a best of 13.08/110.23 with a basically stock vet!! We DON'T ALL just putt-putt down main street!!My dad was 75 when he did the Petty experience sit a 120 mph lap at the 1.25 mile Gateway International (St. Louis) oval,,with his lead driver waving him back, because POP was crowding him in the corners. He could have gone faster, if his leader would have moved it!! A 70 yr. old just won the Pinks all out I watched last night. We are not all ready to lay down and play dead!!!

Even with less hp the truck still seems like the better choice to tow a boat. I'd take leaf spring suspension, and full frame rails to pull a boat with over an independant suspension anyday. Plus the truck probably makes more hp and torque at lower engine speeds than the Eclipse does. I wouldn't want to have to drive around all day in boost.

As for the hitch on the Vette question, thats just tacky.
If you just have to do it though, then I'd like the hidden hitch solution.

Saw an anniversary red with a hitch to pull a matching trailer, thought it was crazy and saw the car was sold, later I saw the trailer being sold by the new owner. Can't see pulling anything behind a vette, my expedition is for that.

In my vette sure since it's pretty much stock but not in my 91 Talon, the 35R turbo would make our vettes look like a geo metro going in reverse.Sorry I didn't mean to generalize but let's face it when you see someone in a vette they are usually older bald overweight etc etc.:lol and wouldn't know what to do at a track but can sure order the hell out of some bling parts from the current Eckler's catalog.

Not for me! I just couldn't do it to the vette. That's what the truck and trailer are for. Not the vette.
