hey guys new c5 owner here.....new to this forum aswell. first of this place is great eh......anyway i just bought a pewter color 2000 corvette auto trans (which i already regret) with 74000miles. i got a decent deal at 16.4k and the car overall is in great condition with very min flaws....the prob is that i dont know where to start as for as mods go. the car has a full corsa exhaust and also the superchip flapaq installed (which so far has not made a difference) k&n in the stock box. iv yet to get a 1/4mile time but my 0-100 is bout 11.7sec which i think is slow now and days. i cant get traction even tho the mich pilots are in good condition so i timed it using trac control. is there hope for a auto? should i look into making it a 6speed? whats the best bang for buck setup for starters under 1k? intake? tb? maf? advice
sorry about that, couldn't help myself, you will get a lot of good advice here, tech section too. I have read a lot about the performance mods but never performed any. Others will offer great ideas, good luck.

^^I suggest you figure out what you want to get out of the car before you start modding it. You can waste a lot of time and money, not to mention really mess up your car if you don't do it right.
You can only increase the power so much before you have to start making changes to the drive line. Unlike most cars the transmission is in the rear of the car. You also have independent suspension all the way around.
One thing you might want to look into is changing the rear gear ratio. Do you know what your gear ratio is?
thanks ....yes i understand what ratios are but dont know which would work best. i just took the guy above you advice and read some good post on auto vs 6speed and other things....it seems like guys are getting good results with 3.42. i dont wanna get to crazy with the car id just like to be somewhere in the mid 12's 1/4
