Just got my C5 back from service. Decided to check things out and...I saw a large piece of molded styrofoam inside the engine bay, driver's side, low and behind the washer fluid reservoir. Appears to be molded to fit but broken off and loose opposite the cove. Any help in identification? Function/purpose? Fix?
No pics. Sorry. It's just weird...it's about 6" x 6", shaped, and looks like it's been there. I've got the question into my guy that did the work today so I should get it resolved.
I don't know if this helps, but there is a huge piece of styrofoam in the front bumper called an "Impact Absorber". Although unlikely I think, I wonder if a big piece of it broke and somehow made its way into your engine compartment. Here is a picture of what the impact absorber looks like,
Ice lid...funny guy. "Impact absorber"?...interesting, never knew that.
Can't see it getting "sucked up" into that location plus it's too big. Had to be there and got dislodged/broke somehow. I'll get an answer.
Still working on it. I will post up whatever I find out.
Thanks guys.
