So I go to Town Fair Tire today to order/buy new tires for the C-5. I wanted non run-flats and they would not order or mount for me because of liabilty reasons. Their computer calls for run-flats only. He says they have reports that the soft sidewalls on the non run-flats causes poor driving and the tires can come off the rims. Sounds like BS to me.
What gives? I know others have done this.
Give me your thoughts on this please.
Total BS...Probably 50% or more of C5 owners have dumped their runflats. I run a set of Y2K aftermarket chrome thinspokes with Kumho runflats and another set of OEM Y2K thinspokes with General UHP non runflats...had them mounted @ a Tirerack suggested installer...Not a problem......

You are correct. It is BS.
Check either Tire Rack or Discount Tire. If you find what you want, they will either drop-ship to the installer of your choice or to you, whichever you prefer.
BEST ONE tire gave me the same BS too. I was so mad that I couldnt even set him straight. Its too bad because they actually had 3 different tires on display I was interested in. Oh well another local store hooked me up. There is no liability, Theres millions of cars on the road without runflats, the only difference is they should have a spare. End Rant

Definitely find another tire store. There is no problem running a non-runflat type tire on the car other than if you have a flat you need to stop and fix it. Guess they just lost a sale.
Total had them on for over 4 years not one issue. I have auto crossed ran The Tail Of The Dragon and done a few donuts ok a bunch never have I heard of such
