Default replaced headlight gear now problem???

replaced headlight gear today. the lights go up and down fine. the problem is now when the drivers side light goes down the headlight door cover is rubbing the left fender and bumper cover??? i have tried loosening bolts and moving it around some. but still rubbing. the passenger side goes down perfectly and gaps are equal .drivers side is messed up. just had front end painted not thrilled about paint rubbing off. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Did you remove the entire assembly, or just the motor? Seems that when people remove the entire assembly, the get the aligment off. Loosen up the assembly mounting nuts, and see if you can get it to align correctly.
If that doesn't work, check to make sure that you have the headlight cover on correctly. Sometimes, it can get cocked to one side or the other, causing your problem.
Good luck!

There are adjustments in the cover alignment that is a pain in the *** and will take all of your patience to get them lined up right but it can be done. I suggest it is in there where the cover attaches to the assembly. Post up a DIY after you conqour this problem. Best of Luck

there are bolts that will allow you to move the headlamp cover around. somebody posted a great pic of it a while back but i don't have it handy.

you will be able to adjust the cover so you have equal gappage all around.

I'd like to see this. My driver side "gappage" could use a little evening out...

the gappage on mine is now terrible. to the point where lower left is rubbing on left fender and bumper cover. so close you would have trouble putting a piece of paper between headlamp cover and fender. other than that the headlight gear replacement went rather well. going to tackle other side next week. but would like to know how to fix headlight door cover. loosened all screw that hold cover on pushed on one side and tightened down thinking this would help. bud a bing not a thing... i will be watching this to see what you boys can come up with to help thanks
