A friend of mine has a c-6 that he could not start this morning. I went over to help and it works out that he had a battery mender on it which was regestering a good battery. But the car was totally dead. He bought the car used so this Surge Protector was probably put on by the previous owner. I took this Surge protector off it and it started right up. Does anyone know what these units do and do they just go bad? I've never seen one before this.
I have one on my Custom Van, it monitors the battery voltage and the ambient temperature and disconnects the battery BEFORE it discharges to where it would not start the car. The "battery minder" should have had a button on it that you push to "reset it". Had you pushed this button, the car would have started.
It is put on my Custom Van so that you can't "watch TV" or use another electrical device to run down the battery.
Never thought about putting one on a C5, but the way they use current, It probably is not a bad idea.

Thanks for the info! And yes it could be a good thing for the c-5.
