Default Who Knows About "Corvette" Windshield Decals.....

......and where I can get one? If the windshields are "tinted" like all Vettes are at the very top, then is the decal "Corvette" lettering a show through? or what?

Any photo's of your windshied with the "Corvette Decal" in place
would be appreciated.

Quick question for you, why would you want a corvette decal on the windshield, the 98 Pace Cars had them but everyone already knows it's a vette! I guess to each his own. But to answer your ?, no idea haha. Good luck in your search!

Here's the '98 btw

I don't believe the decals are tinted they just go right where the tinting is on the windshield, visible on top of tinting. At least none I've seen are.

I guess it's like "customizing" your Vette or asking why you want to change the exhaust, the rims, the intake, the seats, add chrome engine parts, etc. It makes your Vette "unique" among all the ones
that look the same.

The decal lettering is made from vinyl (made by Avery) that is usually guaranteed for 7 years and is applied to the outside of the windshield. Its very easy to apply as well as can be removed just as easily with a razor blade. The windshield decals and can be found for sale on some of our supporting vendors as well as flea-bay.

To me, that is what the point of doing mods is. Doing something other dont have. The aftermarket is full of options for car/truck owners to make it stand out in a croud, and not look like every other car on the road.

I have a pair i just got. Very inexpensive, high quality, correct font for C5 (or any generation), and any color you want. I have looked for years for these, and found them from a really reliable supplier on e bay. He delivered on time and exactly as he said.

I have to look through a bunch of emails to find, but will do so. This is will do you. All the others I have found (up til now), had different fonts ("slashes" are popular), but this is just like the ones GM made. If you don't get my next post by tomorrow AM, PM me.

here it is, $12.95 per set. i got 2 just for the hell of it. here is the data. i will try to cut and paste:

Guy could not have been nicer. I had ordered the wrong color (white instead of the desired torch red), and I panicked and emailed him to HOLD! He made the change and still got them here undamaged and on time. So yes, for e bay, which I almost never use, and such a small purchase, I really liked the transaction.

Hope this helps.

Thought I would add more, what the hell. I am surprised (really) that some strongly don't like the idea. Obviously about half the stuff on the forum could (should?) be debated the same way. Of all those things, this one of the milder, historically appropriate, cheap, and reversable. They match the car in font and color, and, frankly, most people you are approaching from behind don't know its a Corvette, not that it matters.

So, FrankMack, there you go. These should suit you just fine.

I just re-read the entire thread, most of which missed when I was looking up the stuff. My, I must say this is a tough crowd. if everything that was shown or inquired about here was given this level of scrutiny and damnation, we'd have to call the cops in to settle things down. I have often seen things i thought shouldn't be anywhere near a Corvette being given thumbs up, etc. I don't want to say specifically, because I believe we should encourage, even if we would not do something ourselves.

But this? This item is near the top of the list of things that are historically appropriate, for so many reasons. let the guy enjoy his damn decals! I sure will mine. My only regret was I did find them while I still had my ZR-1. In fact, since this came up, by gosh, I think I'll run out and put my second set on my saturn. At least that's not a "huge banner that says "corvette"...on a corvette." So that's OK.

FrankMack, you are on the high ground, do what you want to do. This is a safe bet.

Taking a moment to review the cars here this is really a shame to dump on this guys idea like this. I gotta get out of this one.

Let me know what happens, FrankMack.

Yeah.... these other nansayers really seem to be closed minded and are quick to disparage someone's idea. They can't be envious because this mod is so inexpensive to purchase so it must be their lack of imagination.

I also thought this Forum was to help and inform fellow Vette owners and not try to cut them down. I guess the Brotherhood is only for creative and new idea minds. Thanks for your comments, Arthur.
You got me going, but it doesn't bother me to try and be a little different.

I wonder if these same guys would have the guts to walk up to me at a car show and tell me the same thing they say on this Forum?
I say live and let live and if you don't have anything good to say about someone or their ideas then quietly go on your way and don't say anything. Enough said.
