Default So what mods did you do during winter?

This is it...last week of winter And it's been a loooong gloomy one this year. What did you do to your Vettes while it was parked in the garage?
I only got a few things done. It was too cold most of the time to do much (I used an electric heater when I worked on the car, which helped a bit). Here's what I did:

lowered it on stock bolts...

Corbeau seats. Those made a huge difference. Driving the Vette is a whole new experience now

Cold air fog light screens (fresh air goes directly to the twin cones now).

Coolant tb bypass (easy mod...might as well do it)

Z06 brake scoops...cutting into the Vette felt a bit freaky at first...but I'm kinda used to it from trimming my Jeeps.

Painted C5 crest on hood liner...

Painted calipers...

That's it for the winter mods...I'm sure Spring will bring some more

So what did you guys do????

Good lord... where to begin?

Well first, I went from this:

.... to this;

Also, I put these on;

And these too:

And a Vararam along with some engine cleanup:

...Refinished my rims to remove the curb rash (before and after shots follow):

...and spent about 30 hours polishing defects out of the paint.

Still coming are powdercoated calipers from Mike the Powdercoater! It's been a busy winter.

I went easy this year, my winter mod was to install a homelink visor. I also put on a new set of Michelins about a month before putting her away.

My car is still stock but I did have a dream where I did a few mods

New seats.

I dreamed I changed the intake setup and installed a DeWiits rad with oil cooler and layed the whole setup down.

Also dreamed I did one of these.

While I was dreaming I also dreamed I installed the VE console cover, shift and brake boots. Oh, and 4 of these.

It was a slow winter. Next month I'm going to dream FAST releases the FAST 102mm manifold for the L92 heads.

I'm feeling sleepy right now. Sweet dreams.

Some great mods there. Some of you have really been working. Got a few things done in the last couple weeks. Nothing to mody, just some things I wanted to get too.

Needed some more sound from the rear speakers, something portable too in the vert. Got some 5 1/2" 3/ways Kenwoods to replace the stock. Didn't sound any better so made some boxes and put the two in extra....now I've got 4 speakers with some good sound in the back.
Started like this

Came out like this

Fits in here, and just unplug the RCA connector to remove.

Wanted a motion sensor so bought another alarm and just finished wiring in the dual sensor, siren, a hood trip pin, waiting for the LED scanner to mount. Probably all i will use.
Got two of the carbon fiber remotes to use when i want to set the sensor. They are nice and give a remote message to me if alarm goes off.
Alarm looks like this
http://www.scytek.net/astra.php?pic=...astra/a777.png
Scanner comes on when armed and can be programed for different flashing modes. I like the blue one.

Putting in a switch for the antenna this week, and a new antenna. Hope it warms up soon so i can do some work on the wheels and wash the car.

Let's see...

1. Magnaflow Exhaust
2. C5 Exhaust Plate
3. Front and Rear Black Out
4. Painted Calipers
5. Lowered on Stock Bolts
6. Rail Savers
7. Front Z06 Screens
8. HUD Conversion
9. Painted TARGA Top (Black) to match car
10. Gauge Bezel Surrounds
11. Painted Interior Dash Pieces Black (Waiting to get back from paint)

After making this list, I can now see that I should stay off the forum during the Storage/Winter months.

Anyway the Vette is back on the road as of a few days ago, so the modding most likely will stop for me, rather driven then mod.

Battery den will be custom painted along with air coupler chrome and air bridge painted. Stainless hoses installed. Front panel painted.Trunk getiing some custom carpet and leather being made now. That's a solid list. With the exception of #1 & #8 not a huge amount of cash either. But really adds to the overalll look.

For me I kept strict to my rule about winter mods. I have had some "bad" winters in the past freezing my rear off because I can't stand having anything half done. I focused my energy on getting the basement finished. My wife is happy and after she let me get the CCWs last fall she deserved it
