Default 09 Z06 Shifter

I purchased the 09 Z06 Shifter with the 07 **** for my 2000 Coupe. I purchased the parts from Gene Culley. Great guy to deal with !

Anyway, very very happy with it. I didn't really think it would be that much of an improvement...boy was I wrong. If any of you guys are on the fence about this do it!

Mods to date:

09 Z06 shifter
ls6 intake
ported throttle body
VRB 2
Z06 cat back (also used the Z06 front pipe because I had 4 cats)
Predator Tune
4.10 gears
Z51 shocks and sway bars

I need to do this! My shifter in my 98 is just plain tore up. Plus it feels like I am shifting a truck. I sat in a z06 @ the Kansas City Auto Show this past weekend and the shifter was awesome compared to my 98. I am going to jump on bored next paycheck and do this mod or go the MGW route.

Does this shifter come with a spring loaded third shift? I like my B&M because there is no way to miss third. However, I would like to have something thats just as short as the B&M but not as notchy. Any info?

No spring loaded 3rd shift..but I don't think it's possible to miss a shift with this shifter. The factory shifter has rubber insulators on the housing..which makes the factory shifter feel mushy. The 09 Z06 shifter and housing mount right up...no rubber.

What kind of modifications have to be done to the shift boot? I really dislike my hurst and the ugly c5 **** i think this is a perfect setup. I have felt them on the c6s and i heard the 09 was improved some over the previous shifters? Also are all C6 shift ***** the same? They look the same.

Looks like Gene lists the part number for "c6"... is there a difference in the 09 model?

I bought the shifter kit from Gene, it is Great! The Hurst and BMW are too notchy for me. I might be selling both of them if the C6 Shifter is good at Watkin Glen Driving School,Mothers Day. We did nothing to the shifter boot.

About the only thing you have to do is cut a bit of the thread at the top of the boot to widen the opening. Slide it over and secure it underneath with a zip tie.

Do you have any pics of this? What exactly are you using the zip tie for?
