Hello, I am new to the site...just bought my first Corvette which is a 02 Z06. The car is great, however, the heater a/c control does not light up at all.. neither buttons nor digital display. The functions all work that I can tell. I did use the search function, but could not find anything. Is their a fuse for the lights, or can I replace the lights in the control themselves?
this is a common problem with the HVAC units in C5s. My 2001 one had the same problem. My lights on the buttons lit up but the display was dark and you couldnt make it out at all. You can replace the lights in it, but its not an easy task.....at least my opinion anyways. You can send the unit out or try and find another one in the parts section on here. Usually the vendors or other members will have you send yours to them and in return the'll send you a rebuilt one with all brand new guts. Hope this helps dude....and welcome aboard!!
If you can solder, and it isn't that hard, buy a soldering gun from Radio Shack that is less than 20 watts. Buy some solder, and follow the directions.
I plan on doing this same thing this weekend.
Good luck!
