Default Targa Top Redone!

The first pic shows just how bad the top was. There is very little reflection.

The next pic is after using forum information on how to bring one back from the dead.

The top was very easy to do and I could kick myself for not doing this sooner. If anybody is on the fence about doing this.....DO IT!!

Pat yourself on the back. Or stow it away and enjoy warmer weather

Their are multiple threads on how to do this; which one did you find the most helpful? My top needs some tlc but I don't want to screw it up more either.

Thx for all the good feedback. At the start of sanding I thought "what the heck did I just do" I stuck with as others did on their refinish and it tuned out nice. I did not clearcoat and plan not to. I do plan on one more buff session this summer, and then once a year after if needed. My many thanks to the forum and the great help the members have given me.

I'm suddenly hungry.

Frosted mini wheats, or the Special K?

I wanted to use the mini wheat box for the second pic but all that sanding made me hungry

I did a search for targa top redo (i think). I remember the car was silver and the pic was a "for sale" pic that the poster used for the thread. I used the same sanding instructions, but went with other "buffing compounds" as a buddy of mine had some laying around.

I hate my see through top. I have a headliner in it. I wish I had a painted top. I just don't want to spend the money. Its to hot here in Florida for that kind of roof. My 2000 was all heat cracked. But it really looks like you did a great job.
