Default Center console cup holder

Does anyone have one of these cup holders/storage pieces on their C5?

http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette...=cup%20storage

How well does it work?
Do drinks fit okay or do the tilt a bit when cornering?
I really can not stand the black colour, has anyone painted?

Thank you,

I like it I've been thinking about getting one as well but have the same questions you do. As for the color, my interior is black anyway, so I'm not worried about painting but you might be able to get one from a different vendor that already comes painted.

I have one in my coupe. Its kind of hard to reach back and get a drink, when stored in the cup holders, and they really don't hold the cup very tightly. (they are good for storing an extra can or bottle of pop or water) The console does, however have nice places for cell phones, maps, and I like to put my sunglasses case in the center compartment. I purchased the black C5 cross flag emblem, like the one on the front of the car, or the one on the vert waterfalls, and put it on the console, and it looks pretty darn good.....in fact I've received lots of complements on the look

If it were me, I would do a search on "girl ina box". She sells great cupholders that fold out of the way. You can usually find them on ebay.

I had one and didn't like it. Sold it to someone about 2 months ago. I'm not sure who designed it, but they must have measured every possible drink container size and then made their openings for someting completely different. It could have been done a lot better. Its a great location though.

Thank you for all the information. I think I will pass on the center console drink holder.
One question for ALLEGRO, does that style drink holder hold the big drinks from McDonalds and other on the go places?

Do the search for "Girl in a Box". Her cup holders not only fold flat to be out of the way when not in use but they are fully adjustable to accomodate even a Big Gulp. I have had mine for three or four years and love it because of it's versatility.
I have had a C4, C5 and a C6 and the "Girl in a Box" cupholder that I initially bought for my C5 worked so good that I altered it to fit my C6 when I bought the C6.

I got a couple of these. Flipped one over to sit lower on the driver's side. Works great!

If I had a Pinto I would use the Girl in a box cup holders cause they really cheapen up the look of your interior but if you have white walls on your Corvette with NOS stickers on it the girl in a box would fit right in!

I have what is in post #6 but mine is black and it looks factory.

I actually found a $3.00 flexible plastic drink holder at Napa that I was able to attach to the console by the passenger footwell. I simply inserted the top of it between the console moldings... It works great because it is not rigid and moves a bit with the can/bottle so it does not spill. I think I saw these at Wally World the other day as well.
