Default Seeking a C5

Thanks to all who have answered basic questions from a noob. I have another. Ways to arrange for an inspection of an out-of-town car.
Right now I'm looking hard at a '99 coupe in Indianapolis. Trying to get in touch with members of the Circle City Corvette Club but am having trouble registering with the site so I can post a question.
So any of you Indianapolis owners that have a recommendation on a place to have a pre-sale inspection done, drop me a line.
Also general opinions on arranging out-of-town inspections would be welcomed.

There are regional sections.
You may want to post there as well.
I know a lot of people would be glad to help out if nearby.
Good luck.

Interesting. I'm pretty new also, and I did not know that there are regional forums.

Always opportunities to learn something new here.

I've bought my last four cars from out-of-state, one of them being the 'vette. Beyond having a local forum member inspect it, you can have the seller take it to the dealer of your choice. Have them do a "used car inspection". The basic inspection usually runs $75-$100..

I bought my FRC this way and hadn't even seen it (aside from pics), though I reserved the right to walk away right up to the moment I gave him the bank note...It worked out great, and I got a great deal!

yeah, I bought mine out of country!!
Dave-a forum member and a gm mechanic-took it for a ride, took a bunch of pictures and even a video for me. Wife and I flew across the country and drove it home. wouldn't have been possible without this forum and Dave!!

good luck with your purchase

Good luck with the purchase. Surely a forum member in that area will be glad to go look the car over for you and could probably help arrange an inspection on it by a mechanic.
