I like the large stipe kits that are available for the C5 and whatnot but they cost over 150 dollars. Im looking for ideas that I can do myself with inexpensive stiping tapes etc that will still look good. Does anyone have examples of stuff that they have seen or done that looks good with materials that you can just buy for cheap at the autoparts store, stipes on fenders, over hood, combinations etc?
Thanks
You could show some pictures to a local sign shop and see what they can do. A lot of malls even have decal huts but I don't know if they could do something as large as stripes for a car.
I was surprised to learn what shops that do trophies and decorations for athletic events could do. Our old AC Shelby Cobra had been retired after a long racing career, and we were restoring to the '60's look, even down to the one-hoop roll bar. And i found this small trophy shop that also dressed up cars that were used in athletic events (for the homecoming queen, etc), and with some photos, they had at it. about 90% of what you see, they cut out and installed. Biggest item they did NOT do, is the "65" in the meatball. Obviously, this is more than you are likely to want, but it shows what is available if you scratch around. Use these photos if you want, because these were definitely done by local cutters. best of luck to you, would love to see the results. By the way, note the detail of how the small lines go "over and under" near the meatball on the hod. That was my idea, and they did not back off at all!
Good luck to you The problem with the Vette is it is very difficult to decide what it enough, and there are a million critics. With the Cobra, it was always Shelby's concept that if this is just enough, then more will be just perfect! And that made it easier. let us see what you do!
That all looks good on there ZR1. Ya there is an auto graphics place in town here but I have a feeling they will be expensive. I checked to see just what it would be to put vinyl over my composite top one time and it was a lot so we will see. Amazing what just some stripes and other vinyl graphics do to the look of a car though.
