I would do and thought about it on my car.....However I didnt want to paint it I was gonna get it wrapped but the local shop couldnt do it in gloss black with it scratching on the install ugh...
Did they say why gloss black in particular would scratch the car?
I actually think the silver halo accents the black tinted hatch and windows. With it black it just looks like you have an all glass tinted bubble for a roof.
I always find when I'm torn between two choices on something cosmetic, I just pic the cheaper choice. I'd hate to spend money on something and then everynow and then wish I didn't do it. Just use the money on something your actually sold on.
I have Silver and LOVE the look with the black top. Mine is a Z06 and I'm having the whole top done.
One extra thing you should do though is have the side markers tinted like the rest of your lights.
Silver is one of those colors that is complimented greatly by adding lots of black, in my opinion. Like I said, I'm going to paint my top (maybe vinyl) and do my lower fascia.

They didnt say that it would affect the car, the vinyl would scratch. When they flatten it down to the car the gloss vinyl would scratch and theres no way to prevent it(at least not at that shop) He showed me on a sample piece and it would look good from far away but not up close...It could be done flat black but that wouldnt blend with the windows and give the look you really looking for....

I agree, my side markers are done now, that was just an older pic I had covers before and they didn't have a cover for the side markers so thats why it wasnt done. I now had all of my lights paint/tinted by a buddy and it looks MUCH cleaner. there is a thread in here with pics also!
As for those suggestioning vinyl.... I completely agree but have no idea of anyplace around here that would do it or sell the vinyl. Any ideas?

Well i had to good idea today and found a bunch of left over 5% window tint. I cut it out for the sail panel and layed it over. Here are the pics, tell me what u think. Didnt get far before a gust of wind came and carried it across the front yard
