C5 W/Automatic Started In Neutral?

C5 W/Automatic Started In Neutral?
I started my new to me 97 last night while in neutral. It idled at 1000 rpm and ran very erratically and gave me a "service traction control system" prompt. I shut it off and re-started in park and everything was fine. Is this normal?

I had driven it 3 days before. I drive it 2 or 3 days a week and it always starts and runs fine in park. This time, I had put it in neutral and pushed it back a few feet in order to place 2 x 12 lift blocks in front of the tires in order to get my floor jack in position. I got in and hit the starter preparing to pull up on the blocks forgetting that I was in neutral.
