I bought a twin cone air filter off of e-bay, but it didn't come with any installation instructions...i'm assuming i need to remove the entire existing air cleaner housing...
I just ordered the same item. It did say no instructions. I didn't think it could be that difficult, but, if you hear anything let me know also please.
just unscrew the clamp in front of the maf, There is eiter one or two electrical plugs you may want to disconnect just so you pull everything out, and one extra hose that hooks into the air box you need to just pull off.
I was looking at those same intakes but wasnt sure why they show a hole drilled on the driver side facing the nose of the car. Mid America has the same product (at 3x the cost) but it does show a nipple on the pipe for the hose to connect.
Please let me know how yours looked that you actually received or post pictures.
Be sure to lightly oil the filter element and secure the entire assembly so that it doesnt move side to side with the turning of the car..why cause it will disconnect and stop you dead in your tracks nearly cost me my life and my vette. Be careful around the MAF the wires are brittle and do not like being moved they break and you have issues. Clean the MAF while you have it apart. Make sure all connections are tight without air leaks. Best of Luck
