So I installed some HID Fog lights in the car about 6 months ago and recently I've been blowing the Fuse for the Fogs. It supposed to be a 10 fuse but have been putting a 15 there instead. Why is this happening? Also the 15's have been blowing as well
Flyback loop or digital ballast? Better quality digital ballast (35 watt) pull around 6 amps on startup while lower quality digital ballast pull around 8 amps on startup. Non digital, or flyback loop control ballast pull around 8-15 amps on startup. The startup power flucuates on startup to a degree.... .5 amps to 1.5 amps. The preceding figures are for each ballast... so, if you have a lower quality ballast, it is border line on popping a 15 amp fuse. A little fluctuation and POP!. It will be a little more work, but solve your problems by installing a relay to supply power and replacing your fuse (back) to a 10 amper.
BTW - if your ballast say "digital" and you have a little radio interference, you have a lower quality ballast.
Although... now that I look, the relay harness has already been suggested to you by people (Radioflyer) much smarter than myself.
