Well i didn't get mine tinted but I bought these on ebay from a guy that had them done. he said it's like a spray on tint and then they clear over it. I had the blackout covers on mine but they were so dark that people couldn't see my lights very well. Looked cool but not safe. The are a medium tint. Not real dark but still look somewhat dark. You can see the red through then in the light so they are ALOT lighter than my covers. The lights are easily seen also so that's a big plus.

Thanks,Matt

Thanks,Matt
Thanks guys. I need to take it out in the sun to see how visible the lights really are. I think they will be fine. Won't be for a while though from what I see on the radar. Lots of snow.

Looks great, I am not sure we could get away with it here in Nevada, With the states needing money they are looking for cars to ticket, The Local PD just bought Tint Guns so they can measure the tint and if it is too dark it is a 110.00 ticket....
Looks great!

I hear ya man. it's the same way here. Local cops don't say anything but the state patrol like to complain. I did get a warning for the covers I used to have on but I can understand why. After driving behind my vette I soon realized with the covers the lights were not visible during the day.Originally Posted by Bill K

you know, I like that too. I kinda like it better than just the pure blackOriginally Posted by RJMC5
Very nice, I like the look of being able to see a little red behind the tint. Good job...
That's the way I did mine, spray tint with a couple of clear coats.

I don't think I'll have much trouble around here. When I was pulled over with the black covers I was 100 miles from home. All the cops are pretty easy going here unless something is a safety hazard. I know these are ALOT lighter than the covers so I would think the lights should be able to be seenOriginally Posted by Munch
Those look great. I really want to do this but don't want the LEO problems.

Looks great, I have a black Vette also and just ordered in a vinyl decal blackout kit from mid-america. Havent got em yet, but does anyone know what I am to expect? Are they okey and will the lights still be visible? One definite advantage is very quick removal and install! anybody? ROB

I was also looking at them on ebay but they offered different shades, light, medium, and dark. What shade did you buy?Originally Posted by El original
