Passive Unlock

Anyone know if there's a disable feature on the DIC that will disable the Passive Unlock feature other than turning the remote switch off?

I don't believe you can disable it other than turning it off on the Fob. Make sure the slide is completely in the off position (as far to the left as possible) You can also pick up a 2000 Fob...It will work for the 97-99 and doesn't have the passive option.

You can tun it off on the FOB.

Fob switch is only way. I had probs w/ mine last summer. Cured by just repeatedly sliding it back + forth... cleans the corrosion film.
Rant: What a dumb idea. How lazy do they think we are ? Pressing the unlock button on the fob is just too much work? One more thing to break IMO. Thats all.
