Have any of you added the Heads Up Display to a C5 ? Difficult to do ? A list of the parts/pieces involved , how to or a link to where I can read up on it would be appreciated.
Easy to do about a 4 hour job.. You need a HUD cluster...the hud unit ..the hud unit bezel and the cable from the cluster to the hud unit...you do have to cut the opening for the hud unit in the dash pad .and drill one mounting hole...Entire system ( used ) on the BIG auction site will set you back only $250-$300 bucks. You do NOT need the Hud windshield...works fine with the standard Vette windshield. You do have to remove the console and the pillar mouldings and the complete dash BUT it is a srtraight forward job and really not very difficult...All the c5 cars have the opening under the dash pad for the hud even the 1997 & 1998 cars. IT IS WORTH THE EFFORT..the hud display is super great .!!!!!!!!!! Do a forum search for details several members have done this upgrade. ( make sure you get the connecting cable it can be difficult to find ).in summary it is a plug and play...

Best of luck with your install, blazer! My '01 has the HUD and I love it. I seriously think the only time I ever look down at the gauges any more is to make sure I've still got some fuel in the tank.
I have it on my 04 but when I didn't have it on my 98, I added it, and it was the best mod I did to the car. It's not too hard with the directions and a little patience. I did it by myself but would of made the job a lot easier to of had someone to help get the dash out and in.
Found the parts including the 11 pin wiring harness piece on "the auction site" for around $300. The only thing I wasnt able to find was the bezel that goes onto the top of the dash. Also found a couple step-by-step how to articles with great photos which will make it a lot easier.
I'm about to install on my 99...had to get a used cluster...I don't know what the mileage is on the new one...how have you guys delt with getting the correct mileage? The dealer wont touch it...I hate to send it off to one of the internet correction sites...what has everyone else done?
