Patriotic retirement:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force -pay them $1

Haha this is funny. Where we going to get 40 trillion dollars? 40,000,000 x 1,000,000 = $40,000,000,000,000.00 or about 20 times our national budget for this year depending on who you talk to. It would be like Obama passing 45 more 800+B stimulus packages. Ontop of that, retiring at 50 with only 1M in the bank would mean you would need to "make due" on roughly 35k per year (if the gov't agreed to NEVER tax it) if you wanted to commit suicide once you hit 80. $1M is nothing anymore, plus you're making them either buy a new house (figure cheap one at 100k) and a new car (again cheap one at 20k) so they really only would have about 880k left right out of the box.
