I suffered through “analysis paralysis” myself – ended up with the GY GS D3s and love them.
Rain or shine they perform – after almost 10K miles they are still very quite. Aggressive tread design. Some owners have a problem with having to go up in size on the fronts but I think they look fine and have zero problems with rubbing (my car is stock height). The only concern – and this is universal with all performance tires – reminding myself to keep my foot out of her when temps are at or below freezing as the tires are slick as snot on glass when it’s cold out.
Last thing - and this may be dated as I've had my tires for over a year - in the end I went with Discount Tire over Tire Rack because of the extended warranty. Read the warranty fine print - Tire Rack pro-rates over time, Discount has a flat rate. Discount tire has the "free shipping" but higher tire prices than Tire Rack...drives a numbers guy like me crazy!
Don't do the 555RII's if you even think of driving in the rain!!
I've got them on a set of rims for road racing and they are fantastic in that position!!
Don't have to worry too much about rain here in AZ and my car isn't a daily either...
Oh ya, don't expect many miles off 7/32 of soft rubber either!!
