Default clutch problems

Just took my 01 ZO6 to Texas World Speedway for some track time. After some enthusiastic laps the clutch pedal began to occasionally stick to the floor and the trans was hard to get into gear. It felt like the syncros wouldn't speed match. Now I can't get it into gear after starting it so I have to start it in gear. There is plenty of fluid in the clutch mc and no leaks that I can find. I have also developed a slight leak in the trans/axel seal. Any body out there had this happen and know whats up? It's at the GM shop under warrenty. Thanks, Maury :confused

As I recall, both problems (clutch sticking and leaking seals) are known problems. The "sticking" clutch problem seems to surface more when driven hard. (and suitable amount of heat is generated)
Try a search for the problems since I know several posts discussed the clutch problem and there were some "alternative" solutions posted (one included redrilling the return valve size if I recall).

Good luck! ;)

4stroke:
I have this problem with my '01 infact it is in the shop right know for the 4th time. This will be the 3rd clutch and master and slave cylinders.
But the good news is that this time they found the real problem, the input shaft has been warped right from the factory. You can imagine the damage to the throw out bearing and clutch when the drive line between the trans and the clutch is not turning smoothly. Tell them to look at the input shaft's nylon bushings, mine were torn up.
I should have my car back today or tomorrow.

Moisture that is absorbed by the brake fluid can boil causing gas bubbles that will cause a spongy pedal or incomplete release of the clutch, and sometimes air can get into the system during hard use.

I suspect your clutch operation will return to normal with a good bleeding. In fact, bleed enough fluid through to completely flush the system. You should completely flush the systems (brakes and clutch) every couple of years to remove all the absorbed moisture. (Glycol based brake fluid is highly hydroscopic.). Periodic flushing to remove absorbed moisture will prevent fluid boiling due to the moisture becoming a gas at high temperatures, and removing moisture will also slow down the corrosion that will eventually require you to rebuild the entire brake and clutch hydraulic systems.

Brake fluid is normally clear to slightly amber. It will darken with age/contamination, and if it looks like coffee, it's long overdue for a change.
