Default AC problems- Help

I posted a thread about a month ago about my ac blowing out the defrost, floor vents as well as the ac vents at the same time. I had a few responses saying they thought it was a vacuum hose problem. Does anyone know exactly where this hose is located......

The vacuum hose runs off the back side of the intake. It comes into the car underneath the battery. Remove the battery, then the battery tray and you'll see where the line comes in from the intake.
The line runs from the back of the intake, down through the wire loom, into a splitter, and into the car.
What happens is a couple things. The line comes off the back of the intake, battery leakage causes acid to get on the line making it brittle, and it breaks, or it just becomes brittle over time with age(it's a hard plastic line) and it breaks.
Remove the battery and tray, and start tracing the line back to the intake. Look for breaks, cracks, or splits. Then see if it came loose from the intake.
I'm betting one of these has happened. If you need to replace the line from the intake to the splitter, make sure you use rubber vacuum line instead of plastic, or you'll have to do it again eventually.
Good luck!

Great write up. One thing to add, if you don't have a vacuum tester, you can blow through the lines with your mouth. It helped me isolate some small pinhole cracks that I couldn't see visually.

Yes you can, "BUT" you must plug at least one end in order to get a true test.

I tell you that this 99.9% of the time is the culprit and quite a few of the fella's have called me and I have walked them through it on the cellphone

Any questions give me a call - see sig it's in there (Cell number that is )

Thanks,Matt

I would disagree, at least on the intake side. Once I fixed the holes I couldn't blow any perceptible amount of air through it even with it connected to the back of the intake manifold.
