H/C combo ?'s on C5 '01 Auto
Also, what type of h/c do you guys recommend? My funds will be best mid-summer (got a job ALREADY with tech support, scored a 99/100 on their technical test...their training starts in may and i will be allowed to draw unemployment until training starts) I want your best opinions and what you guys would recommend doing in addtion to the combos for preventative maintenance to head off future problems from the combos.
Thanks for your help, advice and concern.
p.s. I am in greenville, nc, so if you know anyone close...that you recommend...that you recommend...let me know.
God Bless, and dont forget the wave!
Thanks for the input as always fellas!
Also, what kind of HP gains would i get from post # 2?
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I spent about 5kon my heads cam combo when all said and done.
I did:
AFRHeads
Comp cam 228/232 .588 .590 113LSA
Dynatech longtubes
labor/tune
I got about 410RWHP
One thing to keep in mind is doing a H/C package tends to have a domino effect on the rest of the car. Have you thought about your Tranny? The A4 are known to be weak, and once you start getting 50-100 RWHP over stock power , they start breaking. Also, to really take advantage of the H/C you are gonna want to ditch the stock stall converter, that will be an additional cost outside of the H/C prices you are getting here.
I would talk to , and also take rides in some other vettes local to you that have been modified to see how you like the behavior of the car. Once you start adding big cams, it is going to change how the car behaves of course.
Lastly, don't get too caught up in Dyno numbers here..people will toss out all kinds of HP numbers..when truth is , there are just so many variables.. tuner, dyno, miles on the car, temp, A4 or MN6, cam size.
Sorry for the long post, but having been through all that before wanted to share.
Thanks brother!
