Well I got the turnpike this morning and was behind a dumptruck. The guy did not clean out his bed and when he went over a bump asphalt fell off the back of the truck and broke my window. I got an estimate from the dealer at $1,125.48. Does this sound right? 2001 coupe with the heads up.

A lot of trucking companies will pay these kind of damages.

I got the license plate number the company name off the side of the door and I filed a police report with the state police on my way to work. I also have two pictures of the asphalt he failed to clean off the back of his truck

Had the same thing happen to me about 3 years ago with gravel off a dump truck - over $4,000 damage in a split second. Waste of time to get their license and info unless you just get lucky and the company accepts responsibility. Their insurance company (after 2 months of stringing me along making me think they were going to pay) finally said that there was no way to prove the the gravel that did the damage came from their truck - true without a video tape. All it did was waste two months of my time - I finally did a comprehensive claim on my insurance and paid the $200 ded and it was out the door in a couple weeks.
