I have a 2009 ZO6, that is 3 months old. Yesterday after a car wash my check engine light went on. I dont notice any differance in the drive. The coolant level is normal, the oil pressure is normal, and I'm not yet due for an oil change. I checked the owners manual, and it mentioned to make sure the gas cap was secured, which it was. I called on-star and they ran a diagnistic and said it was something w/ the exhaust. They suggested I drive the car on the freeway for an hour and if that didnt solve the problem to go to the dealer. Has anyone had this problem?

I had the same problem with my 07 Z06, 2 blocks after I pulled out of the dealers lot, but mine was the gas cap. Did you actually take the gas cap off and put it back on or just check to see if it was tight? Another culprit could be a bad O2 sensor. Just bring it back to the dealer.
Just have the codes cleared, at autozone or advance auto, they will do this for free and if the llight comes back on take it to the dealer if your still in warranty.
Sometimes a glich will put the light on, and there is really nothing wrong, and clearing it will put your car back to normal, however if the light comes on again for the same problem then you have a real problem that needs to be addressed.
I have a C5 Z, how do you clear the codes without taking the battery cable off? Also if I clear all of them, would I clear the history of them? Don't I need to know the history?
hold down options then press fuel 4 times. it will go through the code sequence and it will then bring them up individually. as they come up individually press reset and hold and it will clear that particular code.
