My '99 FRC recently started throwing the P0332 Code.
Background: I did have my intake manifold off approximately 4 months ago to relocate and replace the bad oil pressure sensor. Potentially could have pinched the Knock Sensor wires in the process of the intake removal/installation with out realizing it (highly doubt it, but is possible).
Research: I have been tearing up the forums searching to see what everyone else has had to do to repair the situation and came across one member saying there was a way to diagnose exactly what the code was being thrown for (i.e. bad sensor, bad connection, bad wiring).
Question: How can I determine/diagnose what the culprit is (sensor, connection or wiring)?
I would like to have a good idea of what is needing to be repaired rather than hoping to choose the correct one. Thanks for the help.
Well, the code narrows it down, I'd get in there and see if you can see if there is any obvious visual problems. From there if you cannot find a problem in the connection or wiring, then I would replace the sensor. You know it's the rear, given the code. So I'd go from there.
By the way here's a link that might help you in the future.
I understand that it is the rear sensor system but is there a way to determine it is the rear sensor, rear connection of the harness to the sensor, or the rear sensor harness itself? Appreciate the help.
Are there different styles or brands of sensors? Any I should shy away from or look to get? About how much do they run? Should I go to the Dealer or Autozone/Oreilleys...
