VSC/TC and Active Handling sure do work!
In another "test", I tried to get the car out of shape around a gentle curve, of course in all of this there were no cars to be seen and I had a nice wide road, I could feel the brakes being applied where they needed to so as to keep the car right in line in the wet. I sure was impressed.
My wife has a 2006 RAV4, a V6 with 270-HP and AWD with VSC and TC and AH and I have taken it in the snow many times and the system in that truck does the exact same thing and I have not been able to get that truck out of shape in the snow, the systems work pretty darned good. Isn't it why the Feds have mandated that all cars have it by some year?
It helps that I have a set of Falken FK452's with about 4,000 miles on them, but when I pushed it a bit, the car did not get out of shape for too long at all.
The main thing that echo's in my head all the time is the line from Chevrolet that says something like " . . . while the system cannot bend the laws of physics . . . " and I remember to not push it too hard, just enough to see if it will, in fact, help, and help it did.
