I have read on here that C5's have 19.5 fuel tanks.I just returned home from a trip to Florida and filled my car (99 FRC) maybe 7-8 times and all I could get in there was just a little over 15 gallons each time.I normally filled as so as the dic displayed "reserve fuel". Also is there a second warning?

there is, when the tanks get very low you will get a "LOW FUEL" on the DIC and a red dash light along with it. if you fueled up shortly after the reserve notification came up you probably still had 3-5 gallons in the tanks.
on my resent trip out west at one fill up I put 18.1 gal. that's cutting it close!
i have run my C5 down to the point the range went to "low" i reset it and ran it to low warning again. i think i was at about 30 miles when it tripped the second time. so i set my trip odometer and ran the 30 odd miles off of it. when i got to 0.0 on what would be the calculated range i pulled over an filled up. it took 18 gal. that was as low as i have ever gotten it. usually i take it down to point the red light on the dash comes on. i think conservation is the key when you try to play with seeing how close to empty you can get.
best advice i can give is to look for a gas station when the red light comes on. you may have 50 miles left on the range but being stranded is just
Note that there is a difference between capacity and useable. You may be able to put in 18.5 gallons but only use 17.5 gallons due to design and placement of pickup. Example: In a Cessna 172 each tank is 22 gallons but only 21 gallons is useable. When reserve comes on time to fill. Better safe than sorry.
