i don't know why other than the guy at jiffy lube says his computer can't read my corvette's computer. my little code reader eraser reads my car's computer just fine so i am thinking of taking it to another place and "playing dumb" and let them see if it passes there.
what do you guys think? the jiffy lube guy said to take it to a automotive repair shop and let them trouble shoot it. he says it could be a fuse or a bad O2 sensor i call i think his EMS plug may be damaged or just not making good contact with my car's receptacle.
what say you?
thanks, hk

Are you throwing a diagnostic code, if so what is it. Also if you have an old history code from an intermitant O2 sensor problem, just clear your codes before getting it tested and it should pass. I've had an O2 sensor not come up to operating temperature fast enough in the winter and never in the summertime. just cleared my diagnostic codes before going to the emission testing center and its always passed. Not a fix for the problem but good enough to pass the test
If you reset your codes then went down to the smog place your gonna fail.
Once you reset the codes you gotta drive around for 20 - 30 miles or a code will say your car is not ready for smog.
There has to be some miles put on it after the code reset for it to be ready to test again or else it will come back as "Not Ready". It could also be a number of start cycles with full heat up and driving.
Figures I'd have to run home right before you get here. Anyway, I heard we got you squared away and the problem was with the smog pump. You should be good to go now.
Bet you the Jiffy lube had to pay for that.. There should never be an open section of pit while pulling cars in or out. Should be completely covered so nobody (and no car) can fall into the pit like that. Notice too there is no safety railing around the pit, nor any yellow/black warning tape on the floor. This has to be gross negligence, despite the drivers dumb asssss driving.
They would have been slammed with a law suit had it been me..
