AHHH the C5 headlight adjustment..when you see em you just gotta say "JUNK".. With the lens assembly separated from the adjuster insert a small torque screw driver in the end of the "ball" place a socket over the adjuster and turn a litlle each way to free. Then screw it back in toward the car. reattach the lens assembly and attempt to adjust. Too much and it will pop out of the lens assembly. Worst part on the car these adjusters!. be careful the parts are impossible to find and you wind up having to buy assembly. Best of luck

Best bet is corvette salage yard and get busted up assemblies. Did you find the torx fitting on top of the adjustment ball on the end of the adjustment screw? The ball fits into the plastic holder in the headlight lens hanger?? Once you find it and hold the adjustment rod with a socket over the outside it will release and screw in. Have you said "junk" yet?
I feel your pain

This worked for me: Drill four small holes into the shaft (smooth portion) of the plastic gear using a 1/16" or 3/32" drill bit. Two on one side and two more 180 degrees on the other side as well. The drill only goes a short distance before it starts to hit the threaded rod inside so be careful. Spray your favorite penetration lubricant into each hole and let sit awhile. The lube is able to get inside the shaft and loosen or lube the metal threaded adjusting rod inside. I even heated it up with a hair dryer set on high for several minutes and then sprayed some more into the holes. I then used the T15 Torx bit to hold one end of the threaded rod and used the normal E8 socket on the adjuster rod and within a few minutes after soaking and going back and forth, it freed up and started working.
I would strongly recommend dissembling and cleaning the gears, the housing, and the threaded shaft, etc thoroughly and when dry, use Synthetic Brake Caliper Grease (made by Sta-Lube and available at most parts stores) to lubricate the shaft and all moving parts. That particular grease has a combination of moly, Teflon and graphite and is very water resistant and it is "plastic friendly".
