Hey guys, this is a great website you got here! Tons of info.
I tried a quick search, but there's just too much information around here, so please, bare with me I just have a quick question....
I have a chance to buy a silver '97 with just under 35k miles for $17k.
My questions...
1. Good deal?
2. Since '97 is the first year of the C5 are there any first year gremlins to be wary of?
Thanks in advance for your help. Hopefully I'll join the ranks as a proud owner soon.
17K should be able to buy you a newer year with around the same miles. I would do some more looking around.
97's do have a few issues that the later ones don't have...........
It all depends on the condition of the Vette...is 17 000 the asking price? You might be able to push that down quite a bit, since there are many Vettes cheaper out there and newer. Indy
Looks like a good deal to me. You can always think,, hmm is there something better out there. If you think like that you'll be searching forever. If the car is clean, and it's just want you want and the price is right then JUMP on it. As far as any gremlins,, if there were any I'm sure they have all been looked after. Good luck with the hunt or purchase
17 is the asking price. I know someone who just bought an '01 from the same dealer so I'm sure I could work them down a little, he was able to work done to a good price. Since it's on a Chevy dealer's lot maybe I can convince them to honor my GM credit card rebate earnings on a used car too.
I'm kind of alarmed by how many people say the price is a tad high. In my area anything I've found '00 and newer is north of $24k.

00 and newer 24K and up, 2 1/2 years ago I paid less than that and it had 14k miles on the car 2002.
