Were just took off the stock manilfold to start installing the lg headers. question.. how do we delete the air tubes hooked up to the stock manifolds and how/where do we disconnect them from the back side?
We ended up just cutting off the tube with a highspeed so it wasn't in the way anymore because we didnt want to have to take off the intake manifold on top of all the other stuff were doing...installing a ecs supercharger kit, alky kit, headers, etc etc..
theres a bolt that bolts the air bracket to the back of the drivers side head...all you gotta do is crack that bolt loose and it'll slide up and out....then you can spin the bolt out with your fingers....be a good idea to pull the intake to do this....just rip out all the tubing (medal and rubber) and it goes down into a little compartment under the drivers side headlight area...where theres a AIR pump...disconnect the electrical connection in there and unbolt the 3 bolts holding on the bracket and youre done....theres a little stem that comes out of the cold air that goes to the AIR pump...just go to the self help in autozone or advanced and buy a box of rubber caps...all different sizes...also you will be unplugging a vacuum line from air pump....and theres a good size cap for both of those in that box i told you about
good luck!
and dont hack a job...do it right....youre installing thousands of dollars worth of mods, take the 15 min to pull the intake and do it right
a header bolt?
were you tightening them evenly?
was it binding?
are you using a tq wrench? 18lbs?
Yeah we were, the tq was to 132 in lbs, but the wrench wasn't clicking. Thankfully it was one of the middle two bolts so I don't think there will be exhaust leak...
