Default Diff Cooler Setup (pics)

I finally took some pics of my diff cooler installed and decided to post up pics in case anyone else was on the fence. I replaced my diff with an upgraded unit with the C6Z fluid pump built by RPM Transmissions and purchased through my friend John Page at 21st Century Muscle Cars in Carrolton, Texas. John was one of the first to inspire me to hit the roadcourse. As we talked about mods he was doing to my supercharged street Vette he sometimes spoke of how much fun it was driving a roadcourse...anyway I purchased another Vette for the track and the rest is like you know it....HISTORY. Back on topic...below are some pics of my diff cooler setup:

Looking through C5Z rear brake duct screen

Setrab fluid cooler with Setrab bracket secured to fender liner

Stainless mesh covering vent exit & backside of fluid cooler

C6Z fluid pump on C5Z diff

"Cooled" fluid return line

Fluid lines running to Setrab unit (I'll wrap these so they don't saw on my car)

The synchros in my tranny are well worn and when I have the cash for the tranny rebuild I'll have the C6Z pump installed and run another Setrab cooler on the passenger side brake duct. Presently I am in the process of adding a Setrab cooler in series with factory C5Z PS cooler. It will be located on front bumber core support hanging just behind the C5Z front screens.

nice setup.

What drives the pump?!? the pinion?!? Also, what type of fluid do you use with that configuration?

Thanks Bro, the C6Z fluid pump was adapted by RPM Transmissions to fit the C5 diff & is driven by the pinion gear Redline "synthetic lightweight 90" circulates through the system
