Default Clearcoat Question

So today I washed/polished/liquid glassed the corvette and I noticed a few spots (4 I think) about the size of a silver dollar where it seems like the clearcoat is thin/missing. You can't really see it yet, but if you run your fingers across it you can feel a difference in texture and it has a different sound about it as well. It is barely visible and only under a certain light angle can you pick it out, but I want to keep it that way/fix it. Have any of you had your car re-clearcoated without having it repainted? I didn't notice the spots until I got it back from having the bumper repainted (drunk ******* keyed it and 35 other cars in my townhouse complex).

Any thoughts/ideas? I'll try to get specific pictures in the daylight sometime.

Well if it is through the clear coat.....You'll have to have that panel re-cleared to look right...Good Luck...

Is that a very labor intensive job to have done? I get a great deal on paintwork (I got my bumper sanded/repainted/recleared after being keyed for just the price of parts) but I just want to make sure that's a viable option without having to repaint anything.

Well you didn't say if areas are on different panels.....The shop will be doing the same thing to those areas as they did to the bumper......Let them look and give you a quote, but to do it right, have area panels reshot..
