DOUBLE D MODS is now an authorized dealer for GT Factory verticle door kits. I have recently put these on my car and yes its only been about 5 days but I love them and have no complaints.
Before I go any further I will clear up what happened on an earlier group buy from a supporting vendor. This person posted a group buy for a "bolt on verticle door kit for C5" from GT FACTORY. There was alot of issues and complaints and unhappy people. How do I know all of this I WAS ONE OF THEM! Problem or should I say main issue was the kits being offered were an older version and needed modified meaning redrilled in some cases cut and rewelded. I sent my kit back to GT Factory and they replaced it with a true "bolt on kit"for the C5. I have now had mine installed and well the outcome you will see in pics below. If anyone wants further details on this please ask me.

YES THERE IS SOME WORK TO BE DONE FOR THIS INSTALL. ON MY CAR THEY HAD TO TRIM A SMALL AMOUNT , ABOUT 1/2 INCH OFF THE INSIDE LIP OF THE FRONT PART OF THE DOOR. ANOTHER PEICE HAD TO BE TRIMED OUT THE THE INNER FENDER. NO PAINTING WAS NEEDED AND YOU CAN NOT TELL ANYTHING WAS CUT. FACTORY WIRE HARNESS WAS USED AND NOT NEEDING TO BE EXTENDED AT ALL.

DOORS WILL OPEN ENOUGH FOR ME TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE CAR EASILY WITHOUT HAVING TO LIFT THEM.

I HAVE NO ISSUES MYSELF WITH CLOSING THEM BY USING A NATURAL MOTION OF SHUTTING A NORMAL DOOR.

Hey, I'm headed back to the US for business and I figure I'll check the hinges as luggage and mail them back to GTF from there. Anyone I should talk to specifically at GTF to let them know I'll be mailing them to them have them fix mine?

He took care of me. I had to pay shipping but was better than having wrong hinges.
It sur elooks to me like they sent me a new and different set from what i was sent from Chaser. My only isse we had wehn installing mine was one hole had to be made just a hair wider for bolt to fit into it.
Other than that nothing was wrong with the kit and everything went smooth

I am interested, but would like to see maybe a more detailed picture of where the body and door had to be trimmed. I don't understand how you could do this without repainting. Any pics of that? Closeups of where it was trimmed?

I just have not had time to take pics yet.

If it wasnt raining here today i would go take plenty. Sorry I am slammed with double din bezel orders as well so tyring to answer messages build bezels and keep everyone happy.

As soon as it stops raining I will go take some pics with doors up shut showing gaps everything
