Default new wheels....but

I would like to buy new wheels for my '99 but not sure what to do about the tire pressure sensors. do I have these rebuilt? (where) do I just use these as is,or just go without. I am not paying what they want for new ones.

We can rebuild them for you:

Rebuild Program

We at JW Motoring can rebuild YOUR current sensors or any sensors you have laying around (as long as they are not internally broken) for $40 per sensor or $146 for all 4. Turn around time is only 1 day in most cases and they will go back to you priority mail (included in the price).

We do not rebuild the 98 year model due to a defect in that years sensors. You can tell if you have 98 sensors by looking for the date on the back.

Order here: http://www.shop.jwmotoring.com/produ...4&productId=39

I also have a large selection of Repro wheels for your C5:
http://www.shop.jwmotoring.com/categ...?categoryId=19

Check with me on availability before ordering the wheels.

do the tpms work now? .. if so should be able to
mount them right in many new wheels although
some reuqire a kit that straps them to the new
wheel with a band. If the sensors don't work now,
there is a vendor on here the rebuids them at a
very reasonable price ...Lots of threads about tpms
on here - do some searching and you'll likely find
which wheels fit. You can just leave them off but
will have to reset the warning on the d.i.c every
time you start the car - can;t be "turned off" on a 99

Yes they will work with those. You won't need bands. The reason I don't put those together is because they don't come from the same location when shipping. I ship the wheels direct from the manufacturer to avoid double shipping costs.

redrckt I read where the battery life is only about 7 years. My luck they would fail right after I had them mounted

If you get a set of wheels that accept the factory sensors, and as long as your current ones work fine, then yes, you can just reuse them in the new wheels. The only problem is your current sensors are going on 10 years old - probably not much life left in them. If it were me, I'd spend the money and get new ones for the new wheels. You can go without them, but you will have a warning pop up on the DIC every time you drive the car. Plus, IMO, they are a valuable safety feature.

When I got new wheels in 2007 I opted to purchase new sensors. The last thing I wanted was to have to change them out in a few years. It's just not worth the worry having new wheels or tires damaged replacing the sensors. $300.'s was worth the peace of mind.

And purchase the deep dishes right?!

Those are sharp wheels man! Especially in chrome. I can't remember which finish you were interested in.
