well I was driving and noticed that it was getting harder to make turns. I checked the fluid level and it in normal operating range. Not sure what the problem is and wanted to get the experiance of CF to help me out.
Thanks
is it at diffrent speeds? I know it has a system in the car to stiffen the steering wheel feed back to make the car feel more reactive to what the driver is doing. If it is easy at low speeds, and a little more difficult on a curve at a decent speed, probably that. If it is difficult all the time then I think you are probably having some type of issue. Before replacing parts, maybe flush the fluid. not sure how often you are supposed to change it, but maybe it has gotten contaminated somehow.

Ok I see what your saying with the differnt speeds and such but this is happening at slow speeds aswell as high speeds. The only thing I can relate it to is when my 70 nova's power steering pump whent out and I ended up driving a tank through the city. So I'm wondering if it's one of the major steering components going out?
I just got mine back from a tuner shop and realized how hard it is to steer. I didnt know if it was because I havent driven it in two months or if something is really wrong.
When I took the Spring Mountain advanced driving school one of their cars had a very heavy steering feel and when I told the instructor he said "oh it must be the Power Steering pump, we go through those quite often".

BTW, how the shocks working out?
that makes sence.. and the shocks are great really changed the ride of the car a lot!! thanks again
You might start it up at idle and take the PS cap off and look at the fluid. If it is sort of frothy looking while the pump is turning you may have an air leak.
Happened on my daughters car (not a vette), and it turned out to be a .19 cent O-ring. On my boys car he had a steel line that chaffed though and it was squirting fluid like it was coming out of a fire hose. Took it all apart and could barely see a tiny hole. Not even as big as a safety pin needle. That PS fluid in the rack is some under extreme pressure! Had no idea. And of course nobody made just the line. Had to do a new / junk yard steering rack or finally found a place that works on heavy hydraulic equipment and built me a 4 inch piece and spliced it in. Problem fixed....but I digress.
Check it running and see if it is frothy - if so - air leak!
Ok I will check that today. I have look before and seen a small leak from the rack and pinion but nothing to cause a big stink over. Maybe that leak is causing all of my problems or is it just my pump going out.
