What you don't like asking your passenger to move their arm everytime you need gas? my brothers S2k has it located near the door jam behind the driver seat. I'd love to have mine there... you could also lengthen the mechanical pull if you didn't want to do any electrical tinkering... just hook in a longer cable

It is a pain to have to open the center console lid to get to the button. Haven't heard of anyone else relocating the button, but that is a very good idea.
It would be nice to have a more convenient location for that damn button. I still get out of the car to fuel up and forget to pop the gas door, then get back in or reach in to open the arm rest and press the button.

First time I forgot and had to reach back in it smacked me in the a$$, wife thought it was funny.
I hooked up the fuel door release to a remote so I can open it from the fob. I never use the manual button anymore. relocating the button should be pretty easy, the hard part is figuring out where to put it and install it so it still looks good. somewhere on the driver's B pillar low enough so the seat obscures it would be nice, you could reach in and hit it without crawling inside the car if you forget to push it before getting out. just make sure the seat wouldn't push it when you move it back! inside the glovebox would be ok also, and as others have stated you could easily splice into the wires and run a second switch (which is exactly what I did but with a relay triggered from an aux output of my security system) so that the stock switch is still there and functional but you have another more convenient way to open it. I never use the stock switch anymore.
I think I will try mounting it in the rear fender well just reach between the tire and vualla, then you dony have to look dumb getting back in when you forget. Just reach under the fender and no one would know.
