smoking problem
Has anyone had problems with left side exhaust blowing smoke? I have a 99 roadster with 59,000 miles. I bought it with 22,000 miles 4 years ago and never had any problems.My oil pressure senser is stuck and I am getting a check engine light . My mech was checking for problem and had the car idleing for about 20 minutes. He gave it some gas and a big puff of blue smoke came out the left exhaust. I have been reading here on the forum about oil ring problems. Does anyone know more about this. Thanks Joe from West Palm Beach Florida:

I have a 1999 stock coupe and i had a smoking problem and it turned out to be bad plugs and wires at 60.000 miles. At work one of our mechanics hooked up the scanner tool and off we we went.ill tell ya it is truly amazing the amount of information that can come back to that scanner,it showed misfires,transmission shift parameters,he could shut injectors off, un believable.so the scanner showed misfires and he said start with plugs and wires and i did ....no more smoke at the exhaust as it was un burnt fuel from the misfire condition that caused it.
