Dual Zone HVAC question
My question is what year did GM switch to the new model and is the new model compatable with the old cars?

97 = 09356081, 16256018 (Remanufactured)
98 = 09352181 *1
98 - 99 = 16254311
00 – 01 = 10436062 *2
02 = 09380441 *2
00 – 04 = 10345293
Notes:
1 Part number 09352181 was superseded by part number 16254311.
2 Part numbers 10436062, 09380441 was superseded by part number 10345293.
There are at least four different power boards and three different display boards that are/were used.
The 98, as you've discovered can be problemtic when doing the LED upgrade in that the LEDs will not turn off. WKMCD got his to work by using a different power board from one of the several HVACs I had sent him trying to fix his.
In all likely hood the lower power requirements are messing with the BCM much like hyperflash. I don't THINK it's an internal HVAC issue. I know the C6 guys have the same problem when converting thier courtesy lights to LEDs, the lights will not go out, they have to install an additional resistor so the BCM will turn the lights off.
I'll measure the overal resistance of the stock bulb setup compared to an LED setup and see what the difference is, I'd like to resolve this without having to resort to buying another HVAC just to use it's power board. That would make the LED Mod very expensive indeed for 98 owners!

On a sidenote, I'm working with jroptop on fixing the stock Radio's slow fade out when it's turned off. Every Radio when converted to LEDs will slowly fade out versus turning instantly off. Related issure perhaps...
If anyone can shed some light (no pun intended) on this please post up!
