Default Anyone have the Corvette Key?

I came across this key when looking for a replacement. The price is kinda high at $80.00 but it beats the ugly looking key fob I have now. Has anyone purchased it and does it work. It says you have to install the board from your old FOB.

I recently bought it... and I hate it. Looks too big and hokey. It's sitting in my drawer and I'm using the original.

I've got one. Came with the car when I bought it. I tend to use the regular key and fob most of the time.

I have heard that for 80 bucks you have to use your old fob insides in the new unit, For 80 bucks it is big and bulky. I would pass if it were me.

Didn't know they were still making those. Big item here for a little while, but then just disappeared.

I bought one several years ago when they were first introduced. I have had no issues and actually really like it. It is a little bulky but it beats having a pointy set of keys in my pocket...

VW uses that same type of key. Pretty expensive to replace.

If u buy one make sure u have the right VATS # (the black chip in your key). If u don't know your VATS # Corvettes of Houston can read it off your present key. I have one but never had the key cut. U can get a cover that slips over your present fob, comes in various colors. Southern Car Parts a Forum Vendor I believe sells the covers.

I made a thread about this in the past regarding one of these keys. Needless to say once reading everyone response on the issue I an still using the old fashion Key and FOB.

I think this key would really on be cool if you have no other keys that you carry. Other wise it would just be a really big key chain.
