Default TSP Torquer 2 cam

Im finally getting around to camming the Z. Im thinking about going with the Texas Speed Torquer 2. I drive my car almost every day (except when its snowing) so i dont need anything to aggressive. The torquer 2 has a nice choppy idle to it. Im not getting heads yet as my low ranking enlisted salary wont allow it quite yet. But of course I will have hardened pushrods, double valve springs etc, etc. Has anyone ran the torquer 2? If so how is its performance on the street? Any other suggestions for a good street cam that will work good with stock heads? Thanks for any input

Torquer 2 Specs:
232/234 .595/.598 112 LSA

I just installed the whole set up from TSP car runs great but has alot of valvetrain noise that im working to correct right now looks like my push rods might be too small I went with the 7.40's as recommended but looks like might need the 7.425's well see im going to measure them this week.Other than the noise she sounds like a beast and pulls strong

i would have one custom spec'd from PatG....he will utilize the best lobe technology comp has to offer and custom spec to your mods and application...specing is only 25 bux and he will refer you to a vendor for getting the cam ground and will end up costing you the same in the end and wont have just any old off the shelf cam.
I just put in a patg 235 243 620 623 111+3 LSL comp grind in my car...I hear you low ranking salary...E3 USAF here...get E4 in Sept so things are looking up and a 2 year raise next month
rest of my mods in sig

I have the torquer 2 and I love it. It idles great, drives really good. There is a little bit of surging in first and second gear. I still have a decent amount of low end power and it pulls really strong top end. Mated with my TFS 215's and a ported FAST 90/90 I made 457rwhp and 400rwtq. I haven't been able to take it to the strip yet though but driving around town it's not to bad at all.

First, don't waste the money on the double valve springs. You're not even going to hit .600 lift so it's overkill.

Also, don't worry about not getting heads right now. 243 heads flow really really well.

Double valve springs are not overkill. Get them

I had the Torquer v2 in my z-28 along w/ patriot heads. I made 425 hp. The cam sounded good and made power to about 6300. I had rev limit set at 6600 on that car. It did have minor bucking below 1500 rpm, but overall driveability was good.
