I have a blown speaker in my passenger door. Anyone have a clue how to remove the door panel? Can you just remove the bottom section? Since I see no screws, I am assuming it just pops out by prying, but don't want to break anything until I am sure. I cannot find anything in Search.
Thanks...
That's the best walk through around for door panel removal.
Once you get it off though, try the speaker again. If you are currently getting a rattle from the speaker area it is usually a loose Bose emblem not a blown speaker.
If the speaker sounds fine with the panel off, either remove the Bose emblem or put a little silicone on it to keep it from moving again.
I actually use a plastic putty knife to pop the little plastic fastners on the bottom of the door. Also, make sure you put the speaker wire mesh grill back on while the door panel is off so you can bend the little metal tabs on the inside to secure it to the door. I forgot one time and drove myself crazy trying to put it back on.
Thanks for all the help. Door panel off, Bose out, Dual in on newly fabricated mounting board, grille tabs secured and door panel back on in 1 1/2 hours. And now I can listen to some bass without getting a headache..
