Serpentine belt

How hard is it to change the serpentine belt on my '01 ZO6? Can I do it in my garage using standard tools?

yes all you need is 13 or 15 mm socket and 4" extention push the tensner in and slid the belt off look at the way the belt is on the pulies befor removing

Great, thanks for the info. I'm not actually sure it needs to be changed but I wanted to know if it can be done. Car is an '01 with only 25k but I'm planning to take a trip to Utah this June so I thought I would check it out. I'll get to the dealer next week to purchase new belt after I take a thorough look at it. Thanks again.

10 minute max job but make absolutely sure you have the belt in each pulleys grooves underneath the balancer....

Always care a spare belt in the trunk with 1 wrench needed to changer belt in a emergency.

Buy 2, keep 1 in the trunk, my son lost his 2 weeks ago. When I took a 600 mile trip I had a spare in the trunk with my full tool bag and pump kit.

Thanks for the excellent advice. When I get to the dealer I will purchase two ane stow it away in the trunk recession where I keep my spare oil.
