Default Fumes from cutouts

I was talking to someone about exhaust cutouts and he said he got fumes back in the car when they were open. Anyone else had this issue?

I do. Only when the wind blows it to the front of the car. It happens every now and then. But the car sounds so good with them open. I have a 408 ci. with full exhaust(LTs, x-pipe and TIs).

I have cutouts and have never had that problem. Here's where mine are located.

Me either - no problems Suggest Turndowns extending 5-6 inches back from the cut-out.

Having a lift helps - especially if you're OCD about cleaning stuff.

Wow, anything special you use cleaner wise? A degreaser, power washer, etc?!

Simple Green, plenty of rags, lots of elbow grease and an understanding wife.

Mine is a weekender toy only while the wife's is a dd, both are '02's. Her's gets the occassional cleaning too but doesn't get quite as clean as mine. It does look good though since I don't let it get too dirty.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled thread subject . . .
